City of Thomasville
Thomasville is known for its annual Rose Festival and is nicknamed, "The City of Roses". The city is the home of the "Big Oak", which has a limb spread of 175 feet. The McKinley Memorial Tree planted in 1896 to honor President William McKinley is also located in Thomasville.
According to 2000 Census, the City of Thomasville had a population of 18,162 persons. Between 1990 and 2000, the city experienced a population increase of 3.5%, compared to the state growth during this period of 26.4%.
